Apollo Tyres Ltd has appointed Rajeev Kumar Sinha as Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO), effective today. The appointment, approved by the Board of Directors through a Circular Resolution, follows a recommendation from the company's Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
In a regulatory filing to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Ltd, Apollo Tyres informed that with this change in the senior management structure, Unit Heads of Plants in India will no longer be classified as part of the senior management under SEBI regulations. The company clarified that while these Unit Heads will no longer fall under the definition of senior management as per Regulation 16(1)(d) of SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements, they will continue in their positions, reporting directly to the new CMO.
Sinha brings over 35 years of experience to the role, having previously worked with organizations including Cipla, Glenmark, PepsiCo, and Cadbury. At Cipla, he served as Global Chief Manufacturing Operations, where he was responsible for providing the Global Manufacturing Operations Strategic Framework and supporting enterprise strategy development and execution.
His prior roles include Executive Vice President & Global Head positions at Glenmark and senior director positions at PepsiCo, where he oversaw various aspects of operations, productivity, and sustainability. Sinha holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from IIT Kanpur.
The affected Unit Heads include Mr. Piush Bansal (Limda Plant), Mr. C. Thomas Mathew (Chennai Plant), Mr. George Oommen (Kerala Plants), and Mr. Anand Sathyamoorthy (AP Plant). According to the company's statement, all will continue heading their respective plants but will now report to Sinha.
