Altair RapidMiner launches advanced AI Agent framework

Altair, a company dealing in computational intelligence, announced that its data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) platform, Altair® RapidMiner will now allow users to seamlessly build and deploy advanced AI agents, a move that could transform operations with advanced automation and operational intelligence.

This new capability enables organizations to integrate generative AI (genAI) agents into their workflows, enhancing the power of their data and creating new possibilities for business operations.

Sam Mahalingam, Altair’s Chief Technology Officer, emphasized that Altair RapidMiner, already a trusted platform for machine learning and data analytics, is now equipped with a powerful AI agent framework. The new feature enables users to build autonomous AI agents that integrate various technologies, including graph-based intelligence, machine learning models, simulations, and business rules. This integration paves the way for comprehensive, computationally optimized automation systems that maximize the value of data and help organizations stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

The new AI agent capabilities bring together some of the most advanced features of leading AI frameworks and enhance them with Altair RapidMiner’s core strengths. Key innovations include an AI fabric that provides a dynamic, graph-powered environment, allowing agents to operate within an intelligent ecosystem where data, actions, and actors are seamlessly integrated. This setup helps transform traditional operations into adaptive, intelligent systems where agents work alongside humans and other systems in real time.

Central to the framework is the ability to leverage knowledge graphs, which provide AI agents with a deep understanding of relationships, dependencies, and real-time data. This graph-powered contextual intelligence enables agents to navigate complex systems, adapt to new information, and generate actionable insights. Users can combine this AI capability with physical simulations, traditional machine learning models, and business rules, creating a unified platform that blends cutting-edge AI with proven approaches.

Altair RapidMiner also introduces built-in governance and traceability, ensuring that AI agents’ actions are always logged and monitored. Each interaction, whether initiated by a human or driven by an agent’s decision, is part of the graph, providing full transparency and accountability. Additionally, the platform’s AI agents are dynamic, continuously refining their context, collaborating with other agents, and orchestrating workflows to ensure seamless automation and decision-making.

Beyond these advancements, Altair RapidMiner includes all the features users expect from modern agent frameworks, such as natural language understanding (NLU), tool integration with APIs and external systems, multi-agent coordination, context awareness and memory, and advanced planning and reasoning. These features enable agents to process complex inputs, collaborate on multi-step tasks, and make dynamic adjustments based on real-time information, further enhancing the platform's capabilities.

With these new AI agent features, Altair RapidMiner will improve how organizations approach data automation and AI-driven decision-making, offering businesses powerful tools to stay ahead in an increasingly data-driven world.
