Ducati has officially unveiled the new Multistrada V2 at the Intermot Motorcycle Trade Show, positioning it as the lightest motorcycle in its category. The mid-size crossover, designed for twin-cylinder enthusiasts, introduces significant upgrades in weight, handling, and rider accessibility, setting a new benchmark in the segment.
The Multistrada V2 is built around the new Ducati V2 engine, an 890cc V-twin delivering 115 horsepower and 92 Nm of torque. At 199 kg (running order, without fuel), the model boasts an 18 kg reduction in weight compared to its predecessor, enhancing maneuverability and low-speed control. Key design improvements include a slimmer aluminum monocoque frame, redesigned ergonomics, and advanced aerodynamics aimed at increasing rider comfort and thermal efficiency.
The bike retains its hallmark 19-inch front wheel for versatility across diverse terrains. A redesigned tail and front-end aesthetics, featuring compact headlights and integrated air deflectors, add to its appeal while maintaining functionality.
Ergonomics have been meticulously revised, offering adjustable seat heights from 790 mm to 870 mm, depending on configuration. The Skyhook suspension system, standard in the V2 S variant, includes the Minimum Preload function, allowing the seat height to lower for easier handling at stops.
The Multistrada V2 incorporates a comprehensive electronics suite, including a 5-inch TFT dashboard, multiple riding and power modes, cornering ABS, traction control, and cruise control. Features such as the Ducati Brake Light EVO and Turn-by-Turn navigation (optional on the V2 S) further enhance safety and convenience.
Performance remains a focal point. The suspension, including fully adjustable Marzocchi forks and a Sachs shock absorber, complements a Brembo braking system with dual 320 mm front discs and a 265 mm rear disc. Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires provide grip and stability on mixed terrains, reinforcing the bike's versatility.
Adventure enthusiasts can opt for spoked wheels and a range of accessories, including heated grips, additional storage, and custom exhausts. The Multistrada V2 will be available in two versions: the standard V2 in Ducati Red and the V2 S, available in both Ducati Red and Storm Green. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in January 2025, with a 35 kW version catering to A2 license holders.
The Multistrada V2 launch underscores Ducati's commitment to innovation, quality, and performance.
