Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Recognized as Top Exporter Amid Global Expansion
Indian manufacturing hub ships 40% of locally produced vehicles to international markets as the Group strengthens its "Make in India" commitment
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has been named "Top Exporter 2023-2024" by the Mumbai Port Authority. The automotive group has exported more than 675,000 vehicles manufactured in India to approximately 70 countries worldwide, establishing India as a key hub in its global manufacturing strategy. In 2024, the company exported 40% of its locally produced vehicles to markets across North America, Africa, AGCC, and the ASEAN region, achieving 20% year-on-year growth.

The company's export performance has shown consistent growth, with a 38% year-on-year increase in 2023 when exports accounted for 30% of total production. In fiscal year 2023-24, SAVWIPL exported more than 43,000 locally manufactured vehicles to over 26 countries across Asia, Africa, and North America.
The export portfolio includes models such as the Volkswagen Vento, Polo, Virtus, Taigun, and Škoda Kushaq. Beyond complete vehicles, the company has expanded its export operations to include parts and components shipped to Vietnam from its Parts Expedition Centre in Pune to support local vehicle assembly operations.
Headquartered in Pune, SAVWIPL manages the Indian operations of five brands: Škoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini. The group operates two manufacturing facilities in India, located in Chakan, Pune, and Shendra, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad).
