Zoomcar, one of the leaders in the self-drive mobility space in India, elevates Varun Jha, its senior vice president, as its chief marketing officer and head of demand business. He will be a part of the top management at Zoomcar and spearhead growth, strategic alliances, API based product partnerships, brand marketing and content. Jha will oversee the demand business and revenue generation through B2C products.

On his new role, Varun Jha, CMO and head of demand business, Zoomcar, said “I'm delighted to empower Zoomcar’s world-class team. It is personally an honour for me to be a part of the top management here and I’m very enthusiastic to take up the charge as the company’s CMO. Today, Zoomcar is at the cusp of a mobility revolution in India. This has also brought enormous problem-solving opportunities for me with regard to supply-demand standpoint. In terms of demand, the platform’s exponential growth is being triggered by both first-time user acquisition and increasing the repeat user frequency across trip duration cohorts. On the supply side, ZAP subscribe has seen immense uptake since its launch last year and we will continue to invest in building brand awareness and consideration through ATL efforts and mass media campaigns.”

Zoomcar is said to be India’s first self-drive mobility marketplace with an aim to bring over a lakh cars on the supply side through ZAP Subscribe services and around 20 million self-drive bookings on the demand side over next few years. In his new role, Varun Jha will further strengthen the new user acquisition through deep-structured product partnerships and performance marketing while repeat usage will be enhanced by improving user retention. The platform envisions to scale its demand business by a factor of 2X by the end of this fiscal via this approach with laser focus on profitable self-drive bookings.

Commenting on the latest development, Greg Moran, co-founder and CEO of Zoomcar said, “I’m extremely delighted to have Varun onboard as the CMO of Zoomcar.  He has a proven track record of scaling various consumer internet businesses as a growth marketer and his extremely revenue focussed approach makes him the perfect fit for the role. Varun has an amazing expertise that cuts across both online and offline marketing and his impeccable business acumen makes him a rare-to-find talent in the modern day marketing context. Zoomcar expects to substantially increase its B2C revenue and further solidify its market leadership by using his  diverse skill set across user growth, brand marketing, creating deep structured product partnerships and data analytics.”

With over 11 years of experience, Jha has worked with leading Fintech and e-commerce companies like PayU and Snapdeal in leadership roles. He holds a management degree from School of management, IIT Bombay, and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Mumbai University.
