After a successful pilot run, ZF Services, the aftermarket vertical of ZF India, has launched its Lemforder series of steering and suspension components, which includes 66 associated spares within the said kit.
With this latest addition to its existing aftermarket product portfolio, ZF Services will more aggressively target cars manufactured by Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Ford India and General Motors India plying on Indian roads.
The new products will be introduced through the company’s 17 authorised distributors and five service partners across the country. Through the new product portfolio, ZF Services aims to garner a 12 percent market share by 2017-17.
Talking to Autocar Professional, Markus Wittig, regional general manager, aftermarket (OES & IAM), Asia Pacific, ZF Asia Pacific, said: “Our priorities for this growing region (Asia) is to develop new suspension products for passenger cars, realign the distribution network and strengthen the service readiness. We plan to establish 200 service points across the Asia Pacific region by end-2014.”
ZF had recently introduced the latest clutch products and shock absorbers from Sachs, as well as rubber-to-metal parts and steering components for high-end vehicles including Audi A3, A4, A6, Mercedes-Benz C-, S-, M-class, BMW 3, 5-Series, Skoda Octavia, Laura, Fabia, Volkswagen Polo, Passat and Vento.
Vijay Khorgade, head, ZF Services India, said: “While this year has been difficult, we believe that the long-term prospects are bright. ZF Services’ entry into the mass passenger segment intends to tap the huge market potential. We are confident that with our strong product brands, we will be in the best position to service customers in the aftermarket for the passenger cars segment. ZF plans to bring in new and technologically advanced product solutions and service offerings into the automotive and non-automotive market in a strategically important market like India.”
