Volvo Cars India reveals next-gen S80, launches Volvo Lounge

Volvo Auto India today launched its first exclusive Lounge and also showcased the new-generation S80 at the Terminal 3 Domestic Departure, Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.

The Lounge, to which entry is by invitation only, is located at the entry of the departure concourse next to the information desk and is spread across 925 square feet. Volvo carlines would be on public display at the lounge entrance accessible for all travellers.

The latest S80, showcased at the Lounge, features the ground-breaking concept of pedestrian and cyclist Detection with full auto brake. It is available with the D4 and D5 diesel engine and is priced at Rs 41.35 lakh and Rs 44.80 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Speaking at the launch of the Lounge, Tomas Ernberg, managing director, Volvo Auto India, said: “Terminal 3 IGI Airport is one of the largest aviation hubs in South Asia with a heavy influx of high profile fliers. Creating a Volvo lounge at such a strategic location is yet another step closer towards our existing and prospective customers. It gives them an experience of Volvo’s brand philosophy ‘Designed Around You’, up close and personal. Partnering with GMR for our Lounge is a perfect synergy of service wherein together we continuously work towards the comfort of our customers.”

“Also, with the new S80 we are taking our philosophy of ‘Designed Around You’ a step further, for our customers with changes designed around their comfort and need. We have focused on quality and attention to detail in order to give the S80 a major boost and sharpen its competitiveness. When it comes to safety we’re always a step ahead and a lot safer. The City Safety has been advanced from 30kph to 50kph. This car is retailed through Volvo car dealerships across the country,” Ernberg added.

The Swedish luxury carmaker currently markets its products (S80, S60, XC60, V40 Cross Country, XC90) through its dealerships in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam and Pune. New dealerships are set to open in West Delhi and Kolkata soon.
