Volkswagen India lowers entry into Polo AT range by Rs 109,000
The Comfortline variant on the Volkswagen Polo also gets the 6-speed AT option with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine.
Volkswagen India has introduced an automatic transmission option on the mid-spec Comfortline variant of its premium hatchback – Polo – in the Indian market.
The Polo Comfortline 1.0 TSI AT has been priced at Rs 851,000 (ex-showroom), thereby lowering the starting price for an automatic transmission option on this hatchback by Rs 109,000. Earlier, an automatic transmission was available in the Volkswagen Polo only in its Highline Plus variant (Rs 960,000) or the GT TSI trim (Rs 999,900).
The Comfortline variant of the Polo comes equipped with features such as automatic climate control, electronically-adjustable ORVMs, remote locking, and a 17.7cm Blaupunkt touchscreen music system.
The car is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor which develops 108bhp and 175Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission.
In terms of safety, the Polo even in its Comfortline trim continues to get the standard dual air airbags, ABS and EBD and rear parking sensors. The AT option gets an addition of ESC and hill-start assist.
The Volkswagen Polo Comfortline TSI AT will be available in five colour options – Flash Red, Sunset Red, Candy White, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel. The car had sold 16,164 units in FY2021 in the Indian market.
