As part of its ambitious plans for India Volkswagen hosted the second edition of the National HR Managers' Connect 2018 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This is part of the company's aim to achieve a market share of 3 percent over the next five years.
According to the carmaker, it is taking strategic initiatives towards enhancing its core brand pillars. Out of its six pillars, ‘People’ has been key that aptly reflects its strongest capital in the Indian region. To further strengthen this the company conducts what it says is a one-of-a-kind platform, wherein HR (Human Resource) leads across the Volkswagen dealerships in India congregate over a two-day peer-to-peer engagement conference to exchange opinions and views on the best HR practices conducted across zones.
With the theme of ‘Engage, Educate and Excite’, the HR Leads imbibe and share the core responsibilities of its HR function i.e. recruitment, training and motivation of employees. The forum also created the opportunity for participants to interact with selective Volkswagen Management Heads including the Brand Director – Steffen Knapp to receive leadership guidelines and perspectives.
Steffen Knapp, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “India is gearing up towards being the third largest automotive market in the globe and with this, we, at Volkswagen are working continuously towards a holistic growth of our organisation. With dynamic changes witnessed within the industry, it is imperative for our brand to focus on enhancing our talent development and retention practices. Together, with all HR leads present across India, we strategise on creating and adopting the best practices of motivating and training our employees across levels to ensure they have the perfect mind, body and soul balance. This in turn creates a positive environment and working space for all our employees across India.”
Further, the forum conducted activities that allowed participants to create, innovate and manage optimisation of their resources. Additionally, the top six HR managers were awarded for their performance in the area on Human Resource Management.
