TVS Motor partners Jio-bp for EV charging

TVS Motor Co has joined hands with Jio-bp to explore the creation of a public EV charging infrastructure for electric two- and three-wheelers in the country, which will build on Jio-bp’s growing network in this space.

Under the proposed partnership, TVS' electric vehicle customers will get access to the Jio-bp charging network, which is also open to other vehicles. The partnership aims at creating a regular AC charging network and a DC fast-charging network.

At present, Jio-bp is operating its EV charging and swapping stations under the brand Jio-bp pulse.

TVS Motor Co is betting big on e-mobility and has planned a Rs 1,200 crore investment in Tamil Nadu for future technologies and electric mobility. The company has already sold over 12,000 units of its high-speed electric scooter TVS iQube. Furthermore, it is readying a complete portfolio of two- and three-wheelers in the range of 5-25kW, all of which will be in the market within the next 24 months.
