TVS Motor looks to rev up scooter sales, launches Jupiter Grande at Rs 55,936

TVS Motor Company, which is seeing sustained demand for its popular Jupiter scooter, which is the consistent No. 2 selling scooter in India, today introduced the new TVS Jupiter Grande. The special edition, launched for the festive season, has some new features and a new ‘Starlight Blue’ colour.

While the Jupiter Grande disc brake model is priced at Rs 59,648, the drum brake variant costs Rs 55,936 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).

While the Grande’s basic styling remains similar to the standard Jupiter, it features an LED headlight, semi-digital instrument console and diamond-cut alloy wheels (only on the disc brake variant). It also gets a new seat cover with quilt-like finish, along with beige-coloured inner panels. The top-spec Jupiter variant features an adjustable monoshock, but the telescopic fork is similar to the standard scooter’s. The Grande will also be offered in a special blue shade called ‘Starlight Blue’.

Commenting on the product launch, Aniruddha Haldar, vice-president (marketing) – commuter motorcycles, scooters & corporate brand, TVS Motor Company, said, “The TVS Jupiter Grande is the latest in the series of annual special editions that TVS Jupiter brings for its customers. It gets grand features like LED tech headlamp, adjustable shocks, digital-analogue speedometer, diamond-cut alloy wheels and the striking Starlight Blue colour.”

The Jupiter Grande will carry forward features such as an external fuel filler cap, reserve fuel indicator, underseat mobile charger, parking brake and pass light switch from the standard two-wheeler. Powering the scooter is a 109.7cc, single-cylinder engine that generates 8hp and 8Nm of peak torque. The Jupiter Grande will take on the Honda Activa 5G, Hero Maestro Edge and the Yamaha Ray-Z in the competitive Indian scooter market.
