TVS launches its first electric scooter at Rs 115,000

TVS iQube has a max speed of 78kph and can travel 75km on a full charge.

TVS Motor Company today entered the electric mobility segment with the launch of its iQube electric scooter, priced at Rs 115,000 (ex-Bangalore). The launch of the green TVS saw the presence of B S Yediyurappa, chief minster of Karnataka and Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways; Basavaraj Bommai, minister of Home Department, government of Karnataka and Venu Srinivasan, chairman, TVS Motor Company.

The electric scooter is equipped with a 4.4 kW electric motor that the company claims delivers high power and efficiency with no transmission loss. The electric scooter has a max speed of 78kph and can travel 75km on a full charge. The iQube Electric can accelerate from zero to 40kph in 4.2 seconds.

The TVS iQube Electric is equipped with TVS SmartXonnect platform and comes with advanced TFT cluster and TVS iQube app and has advanced features such as geo-fencing,  remote battery charge status, navigation assist, last park location, incoming call alerts/SMS alerts among others. The e-scooter also has additional features such as Q-park assist, multi-select economy and power mode, day and night display and regenerative braking.

The TVS iQube, which is sold in only white colour, comes with LED headlamps and tail-lamps and sports an illuminating logo.  The electric scooter can be booked through the company website, as well as at select dealerships with a booking amount of Rs 5,000. This will be followed by dedicated customer relationship assistance for purchase and support. The customer can also avail attractive schemes offered by TVS Credit. The TVS iQube Electric will be available in Bangalore from January 27, 2020.
