TVS' domestic sales up 33 percent in June 2022
Its iQube electric scooter recorded its highest-ever monthly sales figure
TVS Motor Company's domestic two-wheeler recorded a growth of 33 percent with 193,090 units sold in June 2022 as compared to 145,413 units in June 2021. The company’s total two-wheeler sales including exports registered a growth of 23 percent with sales of 293,715 units in June 2022. Its May 2022 tally was 191,482 units.
Its domestic two-wheeler sales include TVS iQube sales of 4,667 units in June 2022. "This is the highest ever sales of TVS iQube Electric and the sales grew by 77 percent over May 2022," the company said. The IQube was launched in January 2020.
While motorcycles registered sales of 146,075 units, scooter sales stood at 105,211 units in June 2022. The company's two-wheeler exports grew by 9 percent from 92,679 units in June 2021 to 100,625 units in June 2022.
TVS said it continues to grapple with shortages in the supply of semiconductors that has impacted the production and sales of premium two-wheelers. "We are working aggressively with alternative sources and taking every effort to improve supplies at the earliest. Some improvement has been seen this month,” it said.
