Deliveries of the new Fortuner have already started. However, the company is now looking to cut down the waiting period.
Commenting on the new Fortuner’s sales performance, N Raja, director & senior VP (Sales & Marketing), Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, "We are overwhelmed with the response that the new Fortuner has garnered in just two weeks’ time since its launch. We have noticed a significant customer preference towards the automatic transmission and trying our best to deliver the product to the customer at the earliest so that they don’t have to wait too long.”
Unlike its predecessor, the new Fortuner gets the option of a petrol engine, which is the 2.7-litre unit recently launched on the Innova Crysta, alongside the diesel unit. While prices for the Fortuner petrol range from Rs 25.92 to 27.61 lakh, the diesel range starts at Rs 27.52 lakh for the base two-wheel-drive manual and going up to Rs 31.12 lakh for the top all-wheel-drive automatic.
“We are glad that the new Fortuner has been able to make such an impact even after the festive period is over. This reiterates the popularity of the Fortuner which has maintained its number one positioning in the segment ever since its launch in 2009,” added Raja.
The premium SUV has sold close to 97,000 units in India since its launch in 2009 and has a base of over 1.3 million customers globally.
