Tata Motors launches limited edition Hexa Downtown at Rs 12.18 lakh
Commanding a premium of Rs 46,000 over the regular variants, the Hexa Downtown arrives in showrooms today in two kitted-out packages – Absolute and Indulge Pack.
In an attempt to accelerate sales of the Hexa crossover, Tata Motors has introduced an accessorised version – the Downtown. Commanding a premium of Rs 46,000 over the regular variants, the Hexa Downtown arrives in showrooms today and will be sold in limited numbers, starting at a price of Rs 12,18,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base XE 4x2 trim.
The Downtown version gets a new ‘Urban Bronze’ shade and will be available in two kitted-out packages – Absolute and Indulge Pack. The Absolute package will offer a set of chrome garnishes to adorn the exterior of the crossover, along with offering side steps, car care kit, a wireless mobile phone charger and ‘Downtown’ badging on the outside. It will also offer tan coloured faux leather seat covers on the XE, XM and the XMA trims, which don’t get leather upholstery as part of the standard kit from the factory.
The Indulge package, on the other hand, will take the luxury quotient of the crossover a notch higher, and alongside offering the elements of the Absolute Pack, will also include a 10.1-inch rear seat entertainment screen from Blaupunkt, an LED head-up-display (HUD) with integrated tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) on the XT and the XTA variants, and, a newly designed set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels on the XE, XM and the XMA variants.
The accessory packages will be offered on all the five variants of the Hexa, spanning across manual and automatic transmission options.
Announcing the new Hexa variant, Mayank Pareek, president, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors, said, “In order to offer our customers with an adrenaline pumped driving experience, we are happy to introduce the urban edition of the successful and versatile SUV, the Hexa with its distinctive on-road and off-road capabilities. The Hexa Downtown, as the name suggests, is a vehicle inspired by the city life to match the customers’ urban lifestyle. With the new edition, we are sure to take forward our brand promise of offering customers aspirational products along with sheer value.”
The Tata Hexa, which was launched in January 2017, has sold a total of 10,478 units in its first nine months until end-September (see sales table below). The capable crossover recorded its best ever sales in August, selling 1,715 units, owing to the then prevalent reduced tax applicable under the GST regime on large cars and SUVs.
