Tata AutoComp Systems, India’s leading automotive component major, has signed a joint venture with Chinese company Guoxuan Hi-Tech to design, engineer, manufacture and supply battery packs for the Indian four-wheeler market.
The joint-venture company has started a prototype manufacturing operation in Pune. The prototype facility was inaugurated by Zhen Li, chairman, Guoxuan Hi-Tech and Arvind Goel, MD and CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems. Tata AutoComp’s offerings to the emerging EV segment now include battery pack, battery cooling system, battery management system, radiator and DC chargers.
Arvind Goel, MD and CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems, said, “At Tata AutoComp, it is our endeavour to bring the latest technology and solutions to our customers. With the advent of EVs, the need for battery packs would be significant and we see a huge opportunity in this market.
