Bengaluru-based retrofitting scooter start-up, Starya Mobility has launched what it says is a cost-effective electric powertrain developed over the last four years. It’s 5.5 Kw patented PMSM Motor and controller will help convert any petrol scooter to electric, which in the future will also help convert light load conventional vehicles into electric.
The start-up claims it is the first company in India to introduce an indigenously built and ARAI-approved electric powertrain developed and tested to match the Indian roads and sustain the climatic conditions.
In addition to targeting retrofitting for individual customers, it also is looking to collaborate with B2B customers to help the demand for green and cost-effective transition.
Ravi Kumar, co-founder, Starya Mobility said, “Till today no other EV company or retrofitting company has launched EV vehicle or powertrain developed purely on indigenous technology and material. Starya Mobility’s every component and technology is developed and manufactured in India by networking with local vendors and suppliers, most of them are from the Peenya industrial area of Bengaluru”
The 5.5 KW PMSM motor, 250A controller unit will offer a top speed of 75kph and a range of around 72km per charge. The start-up says its electric powertrain is tested and found to be ideal for both two- and three-wheelers.
