Clutch manufacturer Setco Automotive, which supplies premium lLipe clutches for heavy and medium commercial vehicles in India, is participating in the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship as an associate sponsor wherein it will co-own one of the six participating teams – the Allied Partners. The championship takes place on March 23 at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida.
All 12 Prima trucks in the event are standard fitted with Setco’s precision engineered heavy duty clutches.
Setco Automotive has been a strategic partner-supplier to Tata Motors for over two decades and has supplied more than 90 percent of their clutch technology requirements. Setco is using the racing platform to further enhance its clutch technology and performance.
“We are very excited to be the clutch technology partner at India’s first-ever truck racing championship hosted by Tata Motors. Our R&D team is constantly pushing performance criteria by subjecting our DVP to maximize Rs/km value for our customers, which is in line with our Lipe for Life philosophy,” said Udit Sheth, executive director, Setco Automotive.
The Prima trucks are the 4038.S model which develops 370bhp and has a top speed of 110kph. The trucks have been built exclusively for the event at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant, the hub of its medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
