New electric motor has been jointly developed by SEG Automotive's main R&D centre in Germany and its Indian arm, SEG Automotive India.
SEG Automotive India launched its 48V Boost Recuperation Machine (BRM) mild-hybrid system last year.
Anil Kumar MR: "We invested and started developing the e-motor early on in 2018. We forsaw the demand even before the government brought major subsidies for e-rickshaws and e-3Ws in FAME II."

The company is testing a 2kW electric motor, to be locally produced and supplied for both cargo and passenger carrying electric rickshaws.
