Sandhar Technologies has entered into a technical collaboration with Whetron Electronics (Suzhou) Co of Taiwan to manufacture and supply a host of components and equipment to cater to growing demand for safety related equipment for the passenger vehicle segment in India.
These include rear parking sensors, cameras, automatic parking, digital video recorders, warning systems, blind spot detection, anti-theft systems, tyre pressure monitoring, control modules, radars, head-up-display, USB chargers, battery management system and auto lighting to Indian automotive OEMs.
Speaking at the signing ceremony on April 21, Jayant Davar, founder, co-chairman and managing director of Sandhar Technologies, said: “The increased focus on safety and comfort of drivers and passengers, and the much-anticipated regulatory changes makes it imperative for us to be prepared to serve our customers with the latest technology products.”
“Moreover, passenger vehicle sales (in India) are expected to touch the 5-million mark by 2020, making this product category an attractive business proposition. By aligning with Whetron, one of the best players in the field, we are ensured of the best technology,” added Davar.
Founded in 1985, the Sandhar Group is a fast growing auto component major with over 6,500 employees, 34 manufacturing plants, and subsidiaries in Spain, Mexico and Poland. Sandhar manufactures lock kits, mirrors, handles, latches, hinges, stamped and tubular components, plastic injected components, zinc and aluminium pressure die castings, relays, fuel level senders, operator cabins, canopies, housings, panels, switchboards, control cabinets, moulds, dies and structural parts for off-highway vehicles. It also supplies steel wheel rims and assemblies, handlebars, clutch and brake panels to the two wheeler manufacturers.
