Rust Stop India, which specialises in developing rust protection systems, introduced an electronic rust protection gadget at the recently concluded Auto Expo – Components Show. The gadget works on the principal of impress current and Cathodic protection which can control growth of rust upto 76%.
Christened RS-5, the product prevents growth of rust in all types of vehicles with an intelligent anode control having dual technology such as impress current and sacrificial anodes. The electronic rust protection technology effectively overcomes limitation of the classic Cathodic protection system.
The technology functions by eliminating steel, water or free electrons, the agents responsible for formation of rust. Explaining the product, Sunjoy Mehta, managing partner of Rust Stop India said, “It works like a ‘Rust Magnet’ attracting electrons that would otherwise be rusting your vehicle. A positive charge, approximately 50 times greater than that between the impurity and iron atoms, is applied onto the anodes from the RS-5 command module. The iron and impurity atoms are now effectively all negatively charged in relation to the strong positive charge on the anodes and also the free electrons are attracted toward and react with the anodes (sacrificial anodes).”
Available with a 10-years warranty, the product is set expand its reach pan-India through an extensive distributor network.
Rust Stop is headquartered in South Africa and Australia. The company will be manufacturing the same product in India once its dealer network comes in place.
