Five months after he quit Royal Enfield, Rudratej Singh takes on new role at the luxury auto brand.

Rudratej Singh joins BMW Group India as president and CEO

Rudratej Singh has been appointed as the president and Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group India effective August 1, 2019. In his last assignment, Mr. Rudratej Singh was the Global President at Chennai-based Royal Enfield. It may be recollected that on January 8, 2019, Autocar Professional had broken news that Rudratej Singh had called it a day at Royal Enfield.

Rudratej ‘Rudy’ Singh, who has over 25 years of experience and has held multiple leadership positions both in the automotive and non-automotive industry. Prior to his stint at Royal Enfield, he worked with Unilever in India and international markets for over 16 years. Singh graduated from Delhi University and holds an MBA degree in Marketing and Finance from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.

Commenting on the new CEO appointment, Hendrik von Kuenheim, Senior Vice President, Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, BMW Group said, “We are delighted to welcome Rudratej Singh as the president and Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group India. With the BMW, Mini and BMW Motorrad brands, the BMW Group remains focussed on the premium sector of the Indian automobile market. Its activities include a manufacturing plant in Chennai, a parts warehouse in Mumbai, a training centre in Gurgaon NCR and dealer organisation across major metropolitan centres of the country.
