Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in the country, has emerged as a high-demand market for electric two-wheelers. Okinawa Auotech, which revealed its electric scooters earlier this year, is keen to caoitalise on this opportunity.
Okinawa’s Ridge e-scooter, which has a top speed of 55kph, can travel 80-90 hours on a single charge which takes 4-6 hours. The company claims it is working on a future e-scooter which will have a 200km range.
Speaking on the expansion of operations in Lucknow, Jeetender Sharma, managing director, Okinawa Scooters said, “Our vision is to be a leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer by offering a solution to the daily commuting needs of the average Indian. “Our detailed state-wise expansion plan has been implemented and we will be following up with various e-scooter models which have unique features such as accident detection, app-enabled vehicle maintenance, and smart controller-based road positioning,", he added.
