NK Minda launches CNG kits for aftermarket

AUTO COMPONENT MANUFACTURER, the NK Minda Group, has launched four-wheeler CNG kits for the aftermarket consumer segment. The Group has been engaged in the manufacture and supply of CNG kits since 2001 to Tier 1 OEMs like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Toyota. Having received a very good response from these carmakers, it is now extending this product offering to the consumer segment.

The kit is extremely easy to fit and it can be fitted in any car with an engine displacement ranging from 750cc to 1875cc. The kit fitment takes only about two and a half hours.

The components of the kit are designed, tested and validated by accomplished professionals. Each CNG kit component is meticulously tested on the production line before despatch to Retro Fitment Centres (RFCs). This is done to ensure a foolproof product customised for the end consumer. The CNG kit has been tested and approved by the international Centre for Automotive Technology (iCAT) and has qualified for all tests as per ISO 15500 specifications.

The CNG kit is fitted with comprehensive safety features like:

Precise routing and clamping of CNG high pressure lines.

Solenoid valve used to start supply of CNG from CNG cylinder to engine only in engine start condition.

CNG cylinder valve is equipped with safety devices like fusible plug and burst disc to release CNG from the cylinder into the atmosphere in the event of an increase in temperature and pressure above the specified limit.

The kit’s regulator can withstand temperatures ranging from -200deg C to 1200deg C, without affecting the performance of the regulator.

Speaking at the launch in New Delhi on August 7, Nirmal K Minda, CMD of the NK Minda Group, said: “We have a sustained commitment towards offering safe, reliable and efficient green technologies to our end customers. This launch signifies the availability of an excellently engineered product, quality without compromise, and class-leading performance that not only enhances safety and convenience, but is affordable to customers as well.”

The CNG kits are, at present, available and can be fitted from NK Minda Group’s authorised RFCs in Delhi and Haryana. These kits will be launched in Gujarat and Maharashtra later this month. The kits are well supported by an aftersales network of service engineers and a large authorised RFC network across India.
