National Engineering Industries’ NBC Bearings has partnered with ConMet of the US to launch PreSet hub assemblies in India. These assemblies use pre-adjusted bearing technology developed by ConMet wherein bearings are set with precise control over the hub, bearing and precision spacer tolerances. These will be manufactured at NEI’s manufacturing facility in Durgapura, Jaipur.
At the product launch at the Components Show at Pragati Maidan, Rohit Saboo, president and CEO, National Engineering Industries, said, “Through this technology collaboration with ConMet, we aim to address the changing needs of the Rs 600 crore heavy vehicle industry, where they require extended service intervals and at the same reduction of critical component failures. PreSet hubs will save maintenance costs, labour, time, eliminate failures due to a bearing’s incorrect adjustments and minimise the risk of assembly damage or incorrect assembly of seals.”
Mark Wagner, vice-president, ConMet, commented, “We are delighted to bring PreSet hub assemblies to India. This technology saves considerable time for installation or dismantling in comparison to conventional wheel hubs, making it an effective choice for the modern-day heavy vehicle requirement. In collaboration with NBC, we are confident of replicating our success in North America.”
