US-based Mustang Advanced Engineering, which is participating at the ongoing Automotive Testing Expo in Chennai (March 19-21) has bagged a significant order from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) to install 40 end of line (EOL) tests and 10 stations for vehicle fitness centres across India. The project will take off from Rajasthan and will take a year to be fully executed across various states.

Talking to Autocar Professional, Kumar Pratyush, general manager for India operation, said: “These are government vehicle fitness centres and the order will be executed phase-wise. Each station will have two lanes for light duty and two lanes for heavy duty as per the provision by the ministry.”

Mustang has an extensive product portfolio in the field of EOL testing. It also has the largest lineup of tow dynamometers available for test engineers. Tow dynamometers are capable of testing vehicles and simulating road profiles taken from pre-recorded data of road grades, hills and mountains without ever having to be limited by the safe and controlled confines of the flat test track.

“We are also talking with John Deere for tow dynamometers. It will take six months to materalise because the vehicle from India will go to the US plant and get assembled there,” said Pratyush. According to Mustang Advanced Engineering’s Michael Caldwell, the company also offers customised solutions to clients.

Besides this, Mustang is also working with major OEMs such as Daimler, Tata Motors, Bajaj, ARAI and NATRiP in India.
