MG Motor India has added a seven-seater variant to its MG Gloster range. At Rs 37.28 lakh for the top-end Savvy variant, the seven-seat Gloster's pricing is the same as the existing Savvy six-seat variant. Other than the bench seat in the middle row for an extra seat, the rest of the vehicle remains the same as before.
The new Gloster seven-seater is powered by a twin-turbo diesel engine, which produces 218 hp and 480 Nm of torque, mated with an eight-speed BorgWarner automatic transmission. It has four-wheel drive with drive modes like Snow, Sand, Mud, Rock, Sport, Eco and Auto. The new variant, which has a sunroof, massage and ventilation function for the driver's seat, is equipped with ADAS and features like automatic park assist, emergency braking and blind spot detection.
As per Autocar Professional’s sales data analytics, the Gloster, which was launched in November 2020, has till end-June 2021 sold a total of 3,236 units in India. In July 2021, MG Motor India posted overall sales of 4,225 units, up 18.74% over June 2021’s 3,558 units and twice that of July 2020’s 2,105 units.
