As the entire country goes into a 21-day lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19, MG Motor India has announced a donation of Rs 2 crore for government hospitals and health institutions providing medical assistance in Gurugram and Halol (Vadodara), where the carmaker’s facilities are located.
While Rs 1 crore contribution will come from the company directly, its employees have also pledged to donate another Rs 1 crore. The contribution includes gloves, masks, ventilators, medicines and beds depending on the particular requirement of the specific government hospitals and health institutions providing medical assistance in Gurugram and Halol (Vadodra).
The carmaker is also advising its dealers across to ensure enhanced insurance cover for their 5,000 employees across the country.
Kicks off 'Disinfect & Deliver' initiative
On March 22, MG Motor India announced its Disinfect and Deliver initiative which ensures car deliveries and test drive at home to customers under a complete sanitised process. Furthermore, the staff at MG dealerships are taking all necessary steps to ensure that the service workshops and showrooms are completely sanitised. All delivery and test drive vehicles are being swabbed with disinfectant before delivery at customers’ homes. The company is also taking necessary preventive measures to make a safe environment for dealership employees in order to ensure their health and well-being.
Under its Disinfect & Deliver initiative, MG Motor India is ensuring car deliveries and test drives at home to customers under a complete sanitised process.
According to Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, “We are committed towards the safety and health of our customers, dealer partners, dealer staff and employees. In times like these, ensuring the well-being of people that we care about becomes paramount. Safety being our topmost priority, through the Disinfect & Deliver Program, our focus is to sanitise throughout the value chain. Thus, we will have limited staff to support essential and emergency services during this period. We regret any inconvenience caused to our customers in advance. However, we will try our level best to satisfy our customers as always.”
The carmaker has also completely digitised the process of bookings and delivery of MG cars, enabling its customers to book the Hector and ZS EV online and get them delivered at their doorstep. Customers can log on to www.mgmotor.co.in, to book their desired vehicles, and confirm delivery-related details.
