Maruti Suzuki launches Swift Deca edition at Rs 5.94 lakh
The limited-edition Swift could be based on the customised car shown at the Auto Expo 2016.
Maruti Suzuki today launched the sporty Swift Deca, a limited edition model of its most popular hatchback. The Swift Deca was teased earlier via a video, highlighting the importance of number 10 with a focus on football kits, along with a key fob that holds a keychain with 'Deca' written on it.
The limited-edition model takes inspiration from the customised Swift which was shown at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Swift Deca is available in two variants – the mid-spec VXi (Rs 5.94 lakh) and VDi (Rs 6.87 lakh) – and gets a host of features in addition to those on the standard car - Sony touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth with door-mounted speakers, exterior body kit (side skirts and spoiler), seat covers, steering wheel cover and gear boot cover, reverse parking camera with sensors, special exterior graphics, front arm-rest, special ambient lighting and floor mats.
Commenting on the Swift Deca, RS Kalsi, executive director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “Swift is a sporty, stylish and fun to drive car. Since its launch, it has been one of the best performers in our portfolio and helped us strengthen leadership in premium hatchback segment. Over the years, the Swift has evolved in features, looks and technology, often defining the changes in aspiration and preferences of Indian car customers. Swift Deca carries forward the sportiness and performance quotient associated with the brand.”

Mechanically, the special-edition car carries forward the current set of 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines. Maruti could have rolled out a special-edition model to revive sales of the Swift, which has recently seen a slowdown.
Suzuki is set to reveal the next-gen Swift internationally this September, and it is likely that the Swift Deca will be the last special-edition model for the current Swift in India.
