Maruti Suzuki India today announced that the automatic (Continuous Variable Transmission-CVT) option will now be available on the Zeta (Petrol) variant of Baleno, which is priced at Rs 747,701 (ex-showroom Delhi).
With this automatic transmission options are available on Delta and Zeta trim of Baleno.
Introducing the new variant RS Kalsi, executive director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Baleno has rapidly found success to become a popular premium hatchback owing to its design, technology and performance. We are thankful to customers for the support and continue our efforts to improve its availability. The automatic option – Continuous Variable Transmission – offered on the Delta variant has been much appreciated by the customers. We are now offering CVT on the Zeta variant as well, to popularise two pedal technologies.”
Since its launch in October 2016, Maruti has received over 1 lakh bookings for the Baleno with 44,000 cars sold through the company’s Nexa channel with an additional 55,000 bookings yet to be served. Baleno is also the first model by Maruti Suzuki to be exported to Japan. Going forward, the carmaker plans to export the model to more than 100 countries from India with shipments already exported to Europe.
The Baleno, which is built on a new generation platform developed by Suzuki Motor Corp, is already Maruti's most exported car in the month of February.
