MAPCO of Germany plans expansion in India through Ziel Overseas

New Delhi, February 8, 2013: MAPCO Autotechnik Gmbh of Germany that is participating at ACMA Automechanika 2013 has a presence in India through its exclusive import and distributing rights organization, the Pune-based Ziel Overseas. Ziel markets brake parts, steering and suspension parts, metal rubber parts, struts mounts and engine mounts and all kinds of bushings and wheel bearing kits as part of its product basket.

Balwinder Singh Bindra, business head of Ziel Overseas, says that his sales network is recreating distribution hubs in the country for new generation spares. At present, its distribution centres are present at seven locations including Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi with a central warehouse at Pune.

More distribution hubs are to come up at Delhi, Gujarat and Jaipur with the tally to step up to 22 hubs by end-December 2013. These hubs organise all activities from logistics to distribution for premium cars in the replacement and the used car markets.

Bindra says that brake pads of Audi cars that are priced around a lakh and more at authorised dealerships of the luxury carmaker are available at Ziel for a few thousand rupees. He adds that these components come with the MRP (maximum retail price) affixed on them, ensuring quality.

Ziel kicked off operations in India six months ago and has already notched sales of Rs 60 lakh. The company has targeted a turnover of Rs 10 crore in two years in a predominantly unorganised market.

With the premium car market in India growing at 20-25 percent in the aftermarket, Ziel plans to increase its product range in India from the current 300 products to over 1,000 by December this year.
