The 23rd Automechanika Frankfurt held last month has set a new exhibitor record of drawing 4,631 companies from 71 countries, including 170 from India. This year, around 140,000 trade visitors from 173 countries, one in four of them from the workshop sector, took advantage of this opportunity to find out about the latest automotive products and technologies during the five-day fair. The biennial event also drew a superior response for Indian companies from global customers. One of them was the Pondicherry-based garage equipment maker Manatec.
Manatec, which has participated for the third time in the world’s largest automotive aftermarket trade fair, says it has received a very encouraging response from the five-day exhibition. The company has witnessed a surge of business enquiries from customers from European as well as Latin American countries, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The company had displayed a comprehensive range of HCV and LCV garage equipment including Fox 3D wheel aligner and Jumbo 9000 wheel aligner, thus becoming the first company from India to showcase these products at the global aftermarket exhibition.
During the show, the company has launched the Truck Wheel aligner and Truck Wheel Balancer, which have been designed and developed completely in-house, and received a good customer response, the company says. At the Manatec stand, trade visitors experienced the products first-hand and saw a demonstration of the quality and durability.
“This was our third consecutive year of participating at Automechanika and we are extremely happy with the encouraging response that has been received from customers from various countries who visited our stall,” said Kalaiichelvan Mananathan, managing director, who interacted with customers during the exhibition.
Manatec already exports to around 40 countries in Europe, Middle East, Latin American and African. All the products displayed at the expo were pre-certified by European standards, which makes them export-ready globally.
Interestingly Manatec says it is the only Indian company manufacturing these products in-house given that most of its competitors either import complete products or technology from overseas. Manatec has own its R&D centre with 40 staffers actively engaged on developing new products. This in turn helps the company price its products competitively as well as maintain global quality.
On the aftersales front, the company has enhanced its aftersales service with online or phone solutions. Similarly to service the export market better, it has appointed well trained distributors at each country it operates in.
Manatec foresees huge demand for its products in the global market largely due to its competitive pricing and high level of quality.
