Mahindra & Mahindra today launched the eSupro, the all-electric version of its Supro cargo and passenger van.
The eSupro becomes the third electric vehicle (EV) in Mahindra Electric’s range after the e20 and the eVerito sedan. It is targeted at the B2B segment in the country to facilitate intra-city transportation and is now available at all M&M dealerships.
The 72V lithium ion battery-powered eSupro develops 25kW and 90 Nm of torque. The zero emission eSupro is priced at Rs 8.45 lakh for the cargo variant and Rs 8.75 lakh for the passenger variant (ex-showroom Delhi after factoring state subsidy and FAME India incentives).
112km range and 60kph top speed
Charging the eSupro is a simple affair, says Mahindra Electric. Plug it into a 15amp plug point and a 0-100% charge is takes eight hours and 45 minutes. The eSupro also benefits from regenerative braking which charges the eSupro’s battery every time the brakes are applied, helping the van recover the energy it dispenses.
On a full charge, the Mahindra eSupro can travel for up to 112 kilometres (based on vehicle loading) and has a top speed of 60kph. It is powered by the latest electric drivetrain technology from Mahindra Electric, a high-torque electric motor and a direct drive transmission.
The eSupro’s instrument cluster provides vital information such as the battery charge status, distance to empty, speed, gear engaged, total running and efficiency. There’s also ‘Revive R’ emergency feature that offers 7km of extra range if the eSupro is fully out of charge.

Speaking at the eSupro launch in New Delhi today, Pravin Shah, president and chief (Automotive), M&M, said: “The launch of the eSupro will usher in a whole new concept in emission-free cargo transportation and people movement. It will provide a much-needed fillip to companies in the B2B and e-commerce segments.”
