Mahindra Logistics, one of India’s largest third-party logistics (3PL) solution providers has announced its acquisition of majority stake in Hyderabad-based ZipZap Logistics, a last-mile logistics service provider operating under the brand ‘Whizzard’.
This the company says will complement its existing last-mile delivery business and EDeL, its electric vehicle-based delivery services.
MLL says expanding technology based last0mile services is an integral part of its growth strategy and this transaction will help accelerate addition of technology, geographical coverage and operational capabilities. Whizzard operates an intra-city distribution network for digital commerce and last-mile delivery. It currently enables seamless handling of 60 million packages per year, across diverse segments. The company led by Ankit Madhania and Arun Rao, has grown 10x in the last 3 years and serves customers with its full stack digital capabilities and micro-distribution centres catering to more than 3,000 pin codes.
