Taiwanese automotive mirror maker Giving Industrial Co has started making inroads in the Indian OEM mirror market.
Taiwanese automotive mirror maker Giving Industrial Co has started making inroads in the Indian OEM mirror market.
According to sources close to the development, Giving has bagged orders from Tata Ficaso to supply its side mirrors. Tata Ficaso is the second customer for Giving as already it has been supplying mirrors to another Tier I component maker, Lumax in India. While the company has been shipping mirrors to Lumax since the past seven years, Tata Ficosa has been buying the product since the past two years, the sources added. Put together, both companies are buying around 1,000 pieces a month but the product split for each company is not available.
Now the company has chalked out a plan to spread its wings in the Indian aftermarket, for which it is in the process of appointing three distributors across the country. Giving will focus in supplying mirrors suitable for Maurti, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota and Nissan. Meanwhile, the company is also in the process of bagging more orders from Tier I component makers in India.
The company had displayed multiple models of its mirrors at the recently held ACMA Automechanika New Delhi, where it attracted the attention of many aftermarket visitors.
Its Taiwan factory has an installed production capacity of 300,000 mirrors a month and the company grosses around $ 30 million revenues per annum.
