Chennai-based Lucas TVS, which was among the first Indian Tier 1 component suppliers to diversify into manufacture of components for EVs in August 2019 and part of the TVS Group, has partnered with storage battery distributor ARENQ.
As per the terms of the three-year contract, ARENQ’s sales and marketing services will facilitate the distribution of Lucas TVS’ e-motors and controllers across India. These include motors with a capacity of 1kW to 15kW for electric two-wheelers, passenger autorickshaws and pick-up vans. ARENQ plans to set up motors and controller service centers across the country.
On its part, Lucas TVS will train ARENQ engineers in the maintenance and troubleshooting of the products to provide consumers with immediate service.
V G Anil, Head of Operations, ARENQ, commented: “This collaboration is a step towards bolstering the EV powertrain industry in India. Our robust sales and service expertise, combined with Lucas TVS's 60-plus years of motor manufacturing expertise, will provide automakers with high-end support. Also, we are looking forward to bolstering the capabilities of our team through this association.”
