Product engineering and IT consulting company KPIT Technologies has announced that as part of its deal with C K Birla Group's Birlasoft, which was announced last year, the company's IT services arm will be renamed as Birlasoft from February 26, 2019.
This new identity is part of the three-step deal between the two companies which agreed to merge and then demerge for creating two specialised technology companies — a digital IT services company and an automotive engineering and mobility solutions entity.
The process is expected to complete by March 2019, which will enable the partners to further strengthen their core competency and serve their respective industry better.
KPIT Engineering, the carved-out business exclusively focussing on the automotive/mobility will be listed at the stock exchanges by mid-March 2019.
