Auto Clover, a Korean premium chromium auto accessories manufacturer, is eyeing bumper orders from Indian vehicle OEMs. The company is in talks to bag orders by leveraging its presence in the Indian aftermarket through a local distributor.

Talking to Autocar Professional at ACMA Automechanika New Delhi (Hall 11/Booth No H51), Mukesh Jain, managing director of Silicon Udyog, which distributes Auto Clover’s products in India, said the company has initiated talks with Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors. The company is expected to close the orders soon, he said.

Silicon Udyog has been supplying Auto Clover products since the past two years in the Indian aftermarket. It was able to sell $ 200,000 worth of products in 2013 followed by $ 350,000 in 2014. By 2016, he said the company is hopeful of touching the $ 1 million mark in turnover even without supplying to any OEMs, he added.

According to Kevin Lee, vice-president of Auto Clover, all Indian orders will be executed through its partner Silicon Udyog. In the Indian aftermarket, the company has been supplying its chromium accessories products suitable for the Maruti Swift, Celerio, Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, City and Toyota Innova among other cars.

The company says it is one of the major chromium accessory suppliers to some OEMs globally. Its customers include General Motors, GM Daewoo, Chevrolet, Holden and Renault Samsung.

The company has been focusing more on the overseas markets and has increased its participation in international expos in recent years. In 2014, it participated in Automechanika Dubai and Automechanika Frankfurt and this year it is participating for the first time at ACMA Automechanika New Delhi.
