Karnataka police to ride Hero Glamours
The Hero Glamour 125cc motorcycle has been engineered from the ground up and the addition of a new gearbox with an extra gear make it Hero’s debutant in the 5-speed, 125cc segment.
Hero MotoCorp has delivered 751 Glamour BS-VI motorcycles to the Karnataka police department. The flag-off ceremony for the motorcycles was done by B S Yediyurappa, chief minister of Karnataka and Basavaraj Bommai, Home Minister of Karnataka from Vidhan Soudha in Bangalore, Karnataka.
The Hero Glamour 125cc motorcycle has been engineered from the ground up and the addition of a new gearbox with an extra gear make it Hero’s debutant in the 5-speed, 125cc segment. In addition to Hero’s i3S (idle start-stop system) for enhanced mileage; the Hero Glamour runs on a 125cc engine with XSens Programmed Fuel Injection technology with a power output of 10.73bhp at 7500rpm and torque of 10.6 Nm at 6000rpm, thus providing a swift and powerful throttle response.
The engine is quite refined and has a nice sounding exhaust note. In terms of efficiency, the new Glamour returns 62.56kpl in the city and 74.6kpl on the highway. The Glamour is available in two variants – one with a drum brake at the front and the other with a disc brake. The bikes are priced at Rs 69,750 and Rs 73,250, respectively,
The Glamour ranks among India's best-selling motorcycles and is a regular in the monthly Top 10 list.
