Jaya Hind Industries tops with ‘Best Foundry 2014 Large Scale Sector’ ALUCAST award

Jaya Hind Industries, the Pune-based aluminium die casting company, has been conferred with the ‘ALUCAST Best Foundry 2014 Large Scale Sector‘ award at the International Exhibition and Conference ALUCAST 2014 held at Bangalore from December 4-6. The international exhibition and conference is a biennial event organised by the Aluminium Casters’ Association of India, Alucast.

The ALUCAST Best Foundry 2014 award is based on specific parameters on which the nominated die casting organizations are judged. Parameters like commitment to quality in all aspects of manufacturing, improvement projects and continuous investment in new technologies are amongst the criteria considered. Jaya Hind Industries (JHI) qualified for the large scale sector foundry awards based on its production of over 4000 T die castings per annum.

The awards are decided by an independent committee chosen for their expertise and experience in the die casting industry.  The qualifying company is audited for their processes, documentation, employee awareness, safety and process knowledge, and lastly but most importantly, customer satisfaction. This is the third time that JHI has been recognided by the Aluminium Casters’ Association of India.

JHI operates across five core competencies including pressure die casting, gravity die casting, auto components, tool room and fabrication. Over the past few years JHI has invested around Rs 250 crore in the development and technological upgrade of the company. JHI continues with its commitment to technological development and to that end had announced its joint venture with Montupet SA, which will enable it to extend its manufacturing footprint across Asia tapping into newer markets.

Commenting on the award, Prasan Firodia, managing director, JHI, said: “It is a great pleasure to receive this award at such an international platform, amongst the industry experts and peers. I am especially happy as Jaya Hind is committed to quality in manufacturing and we continue to invest in newer technology. I am sure this award will motivate the team to continue with the good work and strive for more recognition.”
