Hyundai Xcent gets over 10,000 bookings
Hyundai Motor India says it has received over 10,000 bookings for its Xcent sedan within 30 days of its national launch last month.

In a press release, the carmaker has said it has got over 100,000 enquiries at dealerships across all regions and most dealerships are recording multiple enquires and test drive requests. Among those who have walked into the company’s dealerships are young families in metros as well as in Tier 2 cities.
According to Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president, sales & marketing, said, “The Xcent has created a benchmark in quality, features and technology offering higher value proposition in such a short span of time. We are committed and continuously working on the operational efficiencies to cater to the demand to reduce the waiting period.”
The Xcent, based on the Grand i10 launched last September, has a second-generation U2 CRDi diesel engine that delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 24.4kpl. Meanwhile, the all-aluminium 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine delivers 19.1kpl.
On the features front, the Xcent gets rear air-con vents, integrated 2-DIN MP3 audio with in-built 1GB memory, diamond cut alloys, two-tone design along with smart key with push-button start and stop, Bluetooth connectivity, multifunction steering wheel with Bluetooth, audio and tripmeter controls.
The Xcent was HMIL’s last launch in fiscal 2013-14. The company sold a total of 380,253 units in the year, recording year-on-year growth of 3.38 percent with the top grossers being the Eon hatchback with 86,464 units and the Grand i10 with 72,789 units.
