Hyundai Motor India has announced that it has sold 100,000 Hyundai Grand cars within 10 months of its launch.
Referring to the achievement, Rakesh Srivastava, senior VP (marketing and sales), HMIL, said, “The Grand has created a benchmark in quality, features and technology offering higher value proposition in such a short span of time – the fastest in the industry. To meet the increase in demand, we are continuously working to increase the production capacity.”
Since its launch, the company has sold an average of 10,000 units a month with its highest monthly tally being 11,519 units in October 2013, a month after its launch and coinciding with the Diwali season. The car has been seen as a very strong value-for-money package in terms of price, looks and performance.
According to SIAM, the car has got more petrol buyers with 13,350 units sold in April-May 2014 as against 5,579 units of diesel. Since its launch, the company has sold three petrol Grands for every diesel, indicating the shift towards petrol that has been seen in the last 12-odd months.
