Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today launched the OBD2-compliant 2023 Hornet 2.0, priced at Rs 139,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Key highlights of the new 2023 Hornet 2.0 are the aggressive aerodynamic styling, all-LED lighting system (LED headlamp, LED winkers & X-shaped LED tail-lamp), sporty split seat, short muffler and 10-spoke alloy wheel design and aluminium-finished footpegs. The Hornet 2.0 also gets an upside down (USD) front fork – a first in the sub-200cc motorcycle segment.
The 2023 Hornet 2.0 is powered by the 184.40cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder BS VI OBD2- compliant PGM-FI engine which develops 12.70 kW of power and 15.9 Nm of peak torque. The updated 2023 Hornet 2.0 sports a new assist and slipper clutch which eases upshifts and manages rear wheel lock-up on hard downshifts while decelerating, thereby enhancing rider safety.
The fully digital liquid crystal instrument panel displays information like speedometer, odometer, tachometer, battery voltmeter, twin trip meters, gear position indicator, service due Indicator and a clock. It also comes with customizable brightness for better visibility at day/night.
The new Hornet 2.0, which sports a mono shock rear suspension, is equipped with dual, petal disc brakes with a single-channel ABS. The latest Honda on two wheels is shod with wider tubeless tyres (110mm front and 140mm rear).
HMSI, which has sold a total of 45,833 Hornet 2.0s between FY2021 and FY2023, is offering a special 10-year warranty package (3-year standard and 7-year optional) on the performance motorcycle.

Today marks a significant milestone as we launch the OBD2-compliant 2023 Hornet 2.0. Since its launch in 2020, the Hornet 2.0 has received a tremendous response and we are confident that it will further bolster its position in the market.”
Demand in the Indian two-wheeler market remains slow-moving and HMSI is among the OEMs impacted. In the April-July 2023 period, HMSI has sold a total of 12,63,062 two-wheelers, down 9.6% year on year (April-July 2022: 13,97,874 units) in the domestic market. This total comprised 753,572 scooters, down 7.20% YoY, and 509,490 motorcycles, down 13% year on year.
