Honda launched the Activa 5G at 52,460 for the STD variant and Rs 54,325 for the DLX variant (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). The Activa 5G – as the name suggests – is the fifth-generation model of the scooter.
It gets an LED headlamp, two new colours and a few other updates. The STD variant of the 5G is priced Rs 1,000 more than the Activa 4G which currently retails for Rs 51,460 (ex-showroom Delhi).
For the fifth generation, Honda has also added a DLX variant. This variant comes with a digi-analogue instrument cluster that gets ECO and service-due indicator lights. Both variants of the Activa 5G have an all-LED headlamp and chrome styling inserts. They also feature a new front hook to carry small bags and a tougher metal muffler protector. Lastly, the new Activa 5G variants will be available in two new colours – Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red. LIke its more premium sibling, the Grazia, the Activa 5G also features a seat-opening switch, which is positioned next to the ignition.
Mechanically, the Activa 5G remains unchanged and will use the same 109cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 8hp at 7,500rpm and 9Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The engine, of course, conforms to BS-IV emission norms.
