Honda 2-Wheelers India sells over 300,000 BS VI units
These comprise three scooters and two motorcycles; all four Honda factories with a combined capacity of 6.4 million units have moved to BS VI production.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has confirmed that it has sold over 300,000 BS-VI two-wheelers. The company’s existing BS VI-compliant model line-up comprises five models – Activa 125 BS-VI, SP 125, Activa 6G, Dio BS-VI and Shine BS-VI.
Also, all four Honda factories – Manesar (Haryana), Tapukara (Rajasthan), Kolar (Karnataka) and Vithalapur (Gujarat) – with a combined capacity of 6.4 million units in FY2019 have moved to BS VI production.
According to Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice-president, Sales and Marketing, HMSI, said, “Honda was the first two-wheeler manufacturer to lead the BS-VI transition almost six months ahead of the deadline. Over 300,000 customers are now experiencing Honda’s advanced technologies like eSP, many first-in-segment features like ACG starter motor and significant mileage-up. The coming weeks will see Honda’s BS-VI line-up get more robust with new introductions across segments.”
