Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, today notched the humungous milestone of 100 million (10 crore) units in cumulative production. The landmark 100 millionth motorcycle, an Xtreme 160R, rolled out of the manufacturing facility in Haridwar, in Uttarakhand.
Commenting on the milestone, Pawan Munjal, Chairman & CEO, Hero MotoCorp said, “This significant landmark is also an affirmation of the inherent capabilities in India and Hero’s Brand appeal. We have been making in India, for the world – and this milestone is an acknowledgment of the customers’ preference for Hero across geographies, demographics and generations."
This is also the 20th consecutive year that Hero MotoCorp has retained the title of the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers. Hero MotoCorp’s achievement of this landmark is one of the fastest globally, with the last 50 million units coming in a span of seven years.

To mark the occasion, Hero has introduced six special edition two-wheelers of its current line-up. They comprise the Splendor+, Xtreme 160R, Passion Pro, Glamour and Destini 125, Maestro Edge 110. This six-pack will go on sale from February 2021.
Munjal also outlined the company’s growth plans going forward, “We are going to continue to ride our growth journey. In keeping with our Vision to ‘Be the Future of Mobility’ we will be launching a host of new motorcycles and scooters over the next five years, in addition to expanding our global footprint. We will also continue to invest in R&D and focus on new mobility solutions.”
During the e-meet, Pawan Munjal added that they aim to strengthen their global footprint, increase dealer network and also come up with new products and concepts. "While we continue to focus on building values for our stakeholders and customers, we are keenly aware of future requirements. We are simultaneously ensuring future readiness by working on alternate mobility solutions as well," the Hero MotoCorp boss said.
