Bangalore, May 13: Fiat Group Automobiles India Pvt Ltd (FGAIPL), the fully owned subsidiary of Italian carmaker Fiat, says it will set up another 21 dealerships across the country in the next three months.
Inaugurating a new dealership KHT Fiat today in Bangalore, Nagesh Basavanahalli, president and managing director of Fiat Chrysler India Operations (pictured), said the company so far had set up 54 exclusive dealerships across the country after it ended its vehicle distribution and sales tie-up with Tata Motors last year.
“We have signed letters of intent with 75 entrepreneurs to establish new Fiat dealerships. Of this, 54 outlets have been opened so far and the remaining 21 will go on stream in the next three months,” said Basavanahalli.
At present, there are over 200,000 Fiat cars plying on Indian roads and FGAIPL is undertaking various measures for effective aftersales service. Apart from the main dealerships that also include service centres, the company also plans to open standalone service centres.
Basavanahalli said the newly opened KHT Fiat dealership in Bangalore is the third Fiat Caffé in India after two such outlets in Pune and Delhi.
Adit Morzaria, director, KHT Fiat, said the Fiat Caffe includes sales and service facilities spread over 15,500 square feet in the key Koramangala area of Bangalore.
