Germany-headquartered conventional powertrain and future mobility partner for OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and start-ups, FEV hosted its technology conference on November 22 in Pune. A day conference on the theme of 'FEV day of future mobility – solutions India', it brought together industry stakeholders and experts from FEV to present the solutions for India's present and future automotive challenges.
The event saw over 195 participants keenly discuss, debate and align for the best way forward for India Auto Inc, which shifts gear to BS VI emission norms that will come into effect from April 2020 and also has big aspirations to play a key role in electrifying the future mobility options.
FEV, a globally recognised leader with proven expertise in design and development of advanced gasoline, diesel and hybrid and electric powertrains, battery systems and vehicle engineering, is also a major supplier of advanced testing and instrumentation products and services to some of the world's largest OEMs.
The Tech Day in Pune saw a strong turnout of automotive industry stakeholders.
The technology day saw FEV and industry experts discuss and offer solutions in terms of clean, smart and safe mobility options for future — low cost vehicle development and production, future battery solutions, technology transformation, hybridisation options and electrification trends.
In addition to ongoing developments in India on the back of BS VI norms, the participants at the Future Mobility conference were very much keen on the post-BS VI era, which would see the introduction of CAFE norms, RDE norms and other regulations. There were many queries from the audience related to the low- cost future EV platform for last-mile connectivity vehicles in the Indian market context. The event proved to be a good platform for networking opportunities between FEV experts, stakeholders and OEM and component suppliers.
FEV started its journey in 2006 in India and set up its India Technology Centre in Pune in 2009, which has since been expanded to meet the needs of not just ICE vehicles but also alternate fuels including CNG and bio-fuels and e-mobility solutions.
FEV is supporting the local client base in engine / powertrain / vehicle design and simulation, vehicle integration, power electronics, engine / vehicle performance and emission calibration, electric vehicle system design, software function development, SW integration and testing, functional safety aspects-ISO 26262, electric and hybrid vehicles, battery and battery management system, smart vehicles and autonomous driving.
