The 15th EV Expo has opened at Hall No. 11 in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The three-day event (August 5-7) is showcasing products from over 100 companies including two-, three- and four-wheeled EVs along with parts, charging solutions and technologies.
The EV expo was inaugurated by Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Minister of State, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He said: "Till now only 0.35% is the volume of EVs on our roads, but in the near future, its use is going to grow rapidly. There are millions of small units working in the MSME sector and are contributing around 30% to the country's GDP with more than 11 crore people employed in this sector. They can contribute to the EV industry and I urge the entrepreneurs and MSMEs working in this field to take the EV industry forward rapidly, as, in the future, the demand and use of Electric-vehicles would go up manifold"
EV Expo 2022 sees participation from EV manufacturers, technology and battery manufacturers, charging infrastructure partners, component manufacturers, distribution partners, policymakers and regulators from government and ministries.
Anuj Sharma, Chairman, Electric Vehicle Committee, Government of India and founder of EV Expo said, "As the Central Government's FAME II subsidy is coming to an end, I feel that the State Governments should come forward now. Already Gujarat is offering Rs 20,000 as State subsidy on 2-wheelers and Delhi is offering Rs 15,000. As various States are finalising their EV policies, we have requested them to support the Prime Minister's dream that maximum people should adopt Electric Vehicles, by offering Rs 15000 and 20,000 subsidy on 2- and 3-wheeled EVs respectively.
Key displays at Pragati Maidan include:
- Lithium Urban Technologies’ fleet of electric cars and buses for the B2B market.
- Greencell Mobility’s range of electric buses.
- A-one Energies, a Mohali-based startup, has launched two e-scooters 'Habibi' and 'E-noa'. A 48V 27AH Lithium-ion battery delviers 80km per charge; priced at Rs 60,000 upwards.
- Altius Auto Solutions‘ new electric-2-wheeler with a 2000 W motor, max speed of 70kph and 110km range. Priced at Rs. 85,000.
- Supreme Smart Power’s new range of L5 passenger and goods EVs with extra loading capacity and range.
- New smart e-vehicle charging solutions and batteries.
EV EXPO 2022 is supported by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna(PMKVY), Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and ICAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology).
