Eicher Polaris, a 50:50 JV between Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries Inc of the USA, has begun exporting its Multix personal utility vehicle to Nepal. The first lot of Multix from the company’s plant in Kukas industrial area in Jaipur was flagged off today. Eicher Polaris has appointed Baba Automata of Kathmandu as its first distributor in Nepal.
Commenting on the company’s entry into Nepal, Pankaj Dubey, CEO and director, Eicher Polaris said: “The Multix was launched to serve as an ideal automotive solution for an existing need-gap in the market, catering to the independent businessman who found current solutions sub-optimal. The consumer response to the Multix in India has been encouraging and Nepal made logical sense to accomplish success in the region. The Multix is a ground-up innovation designed and engineered to propel independent businesses many folds. We are confident that it will act as an enabler to independent businessmen in Nepal.”
Eicher Polaris says the diesel-engined Multix, which delivers 28.45kpl, is designed and engineered to suit a family, business and power generation needs of the consumer. The Multix with the Pro Ride independent suspension system and ground clearance of 225mm can tackle all types of terrain. The company says it has a unique tubular frame structure and roll-over protection system (ROPS) that provides structural stability. It is claimed to have undergone over 18,00,000km equivalent of rigorous testing for off-road reliability, safety and durability and has been tested on one of the world’s toughest testing tracks abroad as well as in India on specially built test tracks.
